View from our front door in Kalispell, MT

We’re staying for a few days in Kalispell, MT before we head to Canada.  It’s real near Glacier National Park but we’re not visiting that beautiful park this trip.

We’re in the best site in the RV Park where we’re staying…at least I think so!  We’re at the back end of the park in a corner site with a great view of the mountain range in the background and forest.

Here’s a picture:

View from our front door at Meinert Park Campground in Michigan

Our first stop in Michigan is at the Meinert Park and Campground in Montague which is on the lower peninsula west side about halfway up. We are staying in a county park and it’s just lovely here. We got, I think, the best site in the park, in a corner with trees and ferns and grasses on the two sides that our big windows are on.

We’re under half a mile to a beach and sand dunes as well, so we can walk there. No dogs on the beach so we’re limited to walking around in the parking lot.

THe downsides here are that our wi-fi is really poor and we barely have phone reception. But, it’s just for 5 days. Another downside is that someone in the area shoots a gun several times at night. We’ve woken to the sound of gunshots almost every night. Makes me think we’re in East L.A.!

Here’s a picture of the woods just outside our front door:

Among the cornfields here in Marengo, IL

We’re staying about 1.5 hours west of Chicago this week, in a small town called Marengo, IL.  Even this far out there are a lot of subdivisions going up and large malls with Lowes, Walmarts and all the smaller shops that pop up in suburbia.

But, the RV park we’re staying in, Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort, is quite rural.  There’s a freeway just past the cornfield in the photo, but from our site you can barely hear it.  As we drive to and from this place we see horses, cattle, lots of cornfields and old houses with huge barns and silos.  Just a few miles away is suburbia which is nice for shopping etc., but we can come home and watch the corn grow!

The View from our front door at Nashville North KOA

The Nashville North KOA where we are staying in Nashville is on the small side, and the sites are fairly small.  They are also set up in a “buddy” system which means you are facing the opposite way of your neighbors.  This allows the sites to be smaller as you share your “yard” area with your neighbor and are very close to the neighbor on your other side.

But, it’s a pleasant park.  Here’s a picture looking out our front door:

Through the front door and through window at our Brattleboro VT motel

While our trailer is being repaired from the damage done on the road 7/8/14, we are staying at a “Super 8” motel in nearby Brattleboro, VT.  Since I’ve just started a new section of our blog to show the views from our front doors…which I expect will mostly be beautiful scenery…I am showing what we look at from the motel.

Since the front door is into a corridor, it’s not such a great view.  We are in the back of the motel though and our (only) window looks out to grass and trees and part of the parking lot from the Wendy’s next door.  But at least it’s not on a walkway and parking lot as most motel windows have!!

The motel is really very comfortable and the staff pleasant, so it’s not bad staying here. Here’s my review of the motel on BringFido.com.    http://www.bringfido.com/lodging/97843/?cid=19450&ar=&dt=&rm=1&ad=1&ch=0&dg=1&rt=52#reviews.
